Welcome to the CABI
What is CABI?
CABI, short for CABAC Insurances, is an organization dedicated to supporting Cameroonian families in the United States through times of loss and grief. We connect individuals and associations across Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin, building a supportive network aimed at easing the financial and logistical burdens associated with losing a loved one. CABI’s unique mission ensures that, together, we provide solace, respect, and practical assistance during difficult times.
Why CABI?
The loss of a loved one is one of life’s most challenging experiences, especially for those far from their homeland. CABI was founded to provide a network of solidarity for Cameroonian communities in the United States, easing the financial and emotional burdens associated with repatriation and burial. With CABI, families and associations can count on a unified approach, minimizing costs and ensuring each family receives the support they need when it matters most. By bringing communities together, CABI fosters resilience, respect, and mutual aid across state lines.
How does CABI work?
CABI operates by maintaining a centralized database of Cameroonian members and associations, ensuring efficient communication across its network. In the event of a member’s passing, CABI coordinates logistics for repatriation or local burial arrangements. Contributions collected from members are then pooled and, after minimal administrative deductions, directly allocated to the funeral home and beneficiary to ease financial strain. CABI’s streamlined approach provides critical support, honoring each member with dignity and relieving families during difficult times.
